When I made a batch of venison bone broth for my household this week, I normally add the herbs that I've always used for the shop broth and bone broth dry kits. Nettles for vitamins and minerals, astragalus root and olive leaf for immune support, Chaga for overall vitality and all those lovely aromatics. This time, I did a little something different. I wanted to add the herbs to support foundational nourishment, of course. As well as immune support. However, because bone broth plays such a huge role in healthy digestion and gut health, I decided to make a blend to (in addition to the bone broth itself) support the body in those areas as an extra boost so to speak. Especially since we just released a new wildcrafted digestive bitters tincture. I also wanted to focus on respiratory health.

For this new winter support blend, I use Nettles, Calendula, Mullein, Dandelion leaf and root, Sage, Olive Leaf, Astragalus Root, Bay Leaves, Thyme, Holy Basil and Chaga.

So, for the time being we will have two herbal bone broth dry kits loaded to the site. Our original blend, and this winter support herbal bone broth blend. The back of the blend has bone broth instructions as to how we prepare it 🥰

Now, a little about this bone broth and bone broth in general.

Bone broth. The "super" food of super foods. A traditional "cure all" food. Almost every culture on the planet has utilized bones for healing in some way. This healing food has been shown to help the body rid toxins, heal the gut, strengthen bones and ligaments, improve cognitive function, support the immune system, and provide deep and complete bioavailable nourishment. We use Venison bones currently for a number of reasons. They're what we have access to, and they are incredibly clean (here in the UP anyway). They rival Bison with how clean the broth is. You can visibly see the difference, taste the difference and feel the difference. Bones are incredibly nutrient rich when they're from healthy animals. When you add herbs in the mix, not only are you receiving the healing food that is bone broth, but you're also receiving the benefits of the herbs.

These herbs take the vitamin and mineral content to a whole other level. This blend supports the nervous system, the immune system, and has a huge focus on gut health. As well as the respiratory tract. We are really talking about full body healing here and a full extraction. The nice thing about Venison compared to Bison, is it only requires a 24 hour cook time compared to 48 with beef or bison. After roasting the bones we add them to the pots with all the veggies. If its a perso al batch I keep a veggie scrap bag in the freezer and once thats filled its broth time. Sometimes I add chicken feet for extra collagen, sometimes I don't (but the directions on the dry kits do have instructions to make it with chicken feet), and a splash of organic apple cider vinegar ). The last 4-8 hours we add all of the medicinal herbs. We've had incredible feed back over the years on this broth and have seen such incredible healing in our own lives as well. We've had surgeons encourage their patients to consume our broth as well as family doctors and pediatricians. We've even had doctors on the East and West coast inquire on how they can bring it to their area! I believe that everyone should have this as a staple a long with nourishing herbal infusions. Imagine the healing that would happen!! https://www.westonaprice.org/.../food.../broth-is-beautiful/

These come in pint jars with broth instructions in the back 🥰
