🌿Sumac + Ramp Jelly
Sumac Berries, Ramps, Organic sugar, Pectin, Lemon juice 
Staghorn Sumac is one of my favorites, the flavor is amazing, sweet and tart. It's pairs well in savory dishes and preparations, but also sweet dishes. Staghorn Sumac (not to be confused with poison Sumac- Toxicodendron vernix, they're actually not even in the same family of plants nor look anything alike) is so versatile. We use sumac for our Lemonade and are on a Sumac Kombucha kick at our house right now, and even use it as a flavoring agent for our dandelion chips. Yum 😋😋 one of my favorite sweet and savory combinations is Sumac and Ramps, so why not make some jam! Flavor aside, Sumac berries are traditional cold and flu support. Soothing sore throats, and even bringing down fevers as a diaphoretic by opening pores to encourage sweating. This is non suppressive and supports the bodies natural functions for temperature regulation (like they say, sweat the cold out). It's anti-bacterial and anti-viral properties make this plant such a great ally for illness.
Ramps are sustainably harvested in the pristine environment of the Northwoods. Ramps are incredibly popular because they taste amazing! However, a lot of people don’t realize that they have some pretty incredible health benefits as well. Not only do they have a high vitamin content. But they’ve been shown to help with chronic inflammation, support the metabolism and digestion and even support the immune system! Another thing I’ve always found interesting about ramps, that goes along with the belief that nature provides exactly the medicine that’s needed when it’s needed. This wild edible green is one of the first to come up in the Spring. Right before Spring allergies creep in. Coincidently, they’re high in quercetin which is a flavonoid antioxidant that acts as an anti-histamine. This helps us with allergies and well as asthma! Ramps also emit allicin, so just as eating onions, shallots and other members of that family, ramps can theoretically make you less desirable to mosquitoes
