Most Garlic Mullein oil will go rancid rather quickly because of the moisture content in the Garlic. We found a way to rectify this during preparation and can provide a shelf life of 1 year.
Garlic Mullein drops have made such a huge difference in my life. I used to get chronic ear infections, they said I was basically born with one it was a never ending cycle until about 12 or 13 years ago when I started using Garlic Mullein drops. I've not had an ear infection since! My kids have never have an ear infection either. I don't say this lightly, it truly is incredible how these plants have the ability to heal us.
Before we dive into this farm remedy and the herbs I use, let's dive in to what Garlic Mullein oil actually is. This remedy is used to help everything from ear infections, tinnitus, ear ringing, ear aches and soothing inflammation. Essentially, it's oil that's infused with (whole plant, NOT essential oils) Garlic and Mullein. This herbal oil extracts all of the oil soluble constituents of these plants, creating an effective and potent antimicrobial oil.
A plant that often gets overlooked when working with ear ailments is the beautiful and native Serviceberry. Both the leaves AND the berries have properties that are such potent healers for the ears and eyes. After working with the plant for several minor ailments we've encountered, I've found it to be extremely true! So naturally we needed to add Serviceberry to our ear drop remedy. Sustainably wildcrafted here on the farm. We also harvested Calendula flowers just for this! Beautiful whole flowers, with the healing resin intact.
