I've been working on a tea blend for a while but it just wasn't quite right so I wasn't sure if I'd have it done by Friday.

So today, I figured we should go to the place the tea is inspired by. This tea is supposed to capture Lake Superiors essence. Now I'm not saying I even came close, because I dont think anyone can capture such a wonderous place.

So today we went to find inspiration for this blend, and we found it. Today's beach session was just what I needed. I'm so incredibly excited about this blend! The tea is supposed to be Lake Superior in a cup. At least how I experience her. Lake Superior is so incredibly beautiful. Simply stunning. She has two sides; beautiful, gentle and calm, but also fierce and deadly and demands respect. She's refreshing and renewing and sitting on her shores with your feet in her warm sand, she's warming to the soul. Exploring her frozen shore line, she's breathtaking. She has a way of bringing life back into your heart and body. Every dip, every stroll is full of treasure and wonder.

Northwoods Spruce, Butterfly pea flower, Damiana, Mullein, Northwoods Birch leaves

It's so hard to even explain the flavors happening. It touched every happy note. I used Mullein because in my eyes Lake Superior is the breath of this side of the world. It's so clean, and the air around it just heals your lungs, not to mention it can take your breath away at the same time (have you ever inhaled Mullein tiny hairs when making a blend? 😆). The Damiana adds excitment, and spice and sweetness. All the things I feel when I go to the big lake. The Birch is so light but also adds a slight spicyness and intenseness too but also so so fresh, like the breeze coming off the lake. The butterfly pea flowers lend to the amazing color that just blows you away every time. The touch of Spruce is a reminder of all of the beautiful conifers that decorate her coast. This blend is so refreshing over ice, but is easily transformed during the winter into an incredibly warming and flavorful moon milk. The milk reminiscent of snow that covers her icy waters.

All of that aside, this tea is just so healing for both the Summer and Winter. Supportive to the lungs, packed with vitamin C, nervines to calm the nervous system. It's slightly euphoric to say the least.
