This is something ive been wanting to make for a little while as my lips have been struggling with the season transition.

For the longest time I was a bit intense with zero waste (obviously, seeing as I owned a zero waste store 😆) but life is good at providing clarity on finding balance and keeping what's important in check. I wanted to make a chapstick that could be applied easily without getting your fingers sticky, but in a container that is super solid and didn't fall apart when conditions weren't ideal (because im less than graceful and find myself in weird scenarios). So I'm pretty excited about these chapstick containers. They hold up to even the most rugged situations, are easy to apply and tuck away nicely.

This chapstick has a beautiful base of avocado oil infused with wildcrafted cedar and wildcrafted jackpine. Though, the best part of this is the healthy dose of balasm fir pitch, lanolin and venison tallow! Heaven for the lips 😜 most natural chapsticks are made with herbal oils and waxes. They're amazing and soothing for cracked lips but they aren't actually hydrating. Oils and wax are occlusives and emollients so they don't actually provide moisture but rather just seal in and protect. If you already have dry lips there isn't any moisture to seal in. So to actually bring moisture back to the lips you need to add an anhydrous ingredient that will emulsify a small amount water soluble ingredient. Thats where the lanolin and tallow come in. Lanolin can hold water, it can actually hold 2x its weight in water and is super moisturizing and wow does it make a difference! The pitch gives it such a soothing scent of the backwoods, and is incredibly healing in itself 🥰
